I almost had a heart attack.

In one of my tanks, the ground has about an inch of gravel, and then on top I put small black stones. It looks sooo cute, and my fishy is always curiously sniffing through the stones. HOWEVER, this morning, just like every morning, I calmly woke up and went to get a look at my fishies to make sure they were okay. As I look into his tank, I don't see him. I go into panic mode thinking he had somehow jumped out. Then, on the corner of his tank, I see his little head sticking out from under a stone..HE HAD GOTTEN STUCK. apparently he was sniffing through them and knocked one on top of himself...I FREAKED OUT and quickly pulled the stone off, he swam up and got air..omg. What should I do? Should I take out the stones? ALL of my tanks have stones in them...some have NO gravel and ONLY stones..is this a problem?

sure! the tank is tiny, as is the one next to it (im getting new tanks in the mail sometime this month (birthday gift :D ) but they haven't arrived yet. so this tank is a temporary. here are the pics:

Welcome to the board!! I think the stones will be fine if you bury them just a tiyn bit deeper so they're secure, and you get that bigger tank soon. :)

okay, will do :) i really didn't want to get rid of the stones since they're pretty, so i'll just bury them in there haha. yea im so excited, i wish the mail would hurry up :P

thanks! mm im not entirely sure. i bought him about a month ago, he came with a new shipment at my lps. there were a ton like him but he was definitely the tiniest/cutest of the bunch. he's probably like 2 inches from his mouth to the tip of his tail, and hes less than half the size of my 1-year-old VTs. could you estimate his age from that info?
