He has changed so much in the last couple months, I cannot believe it until I realized I still had photos from the first week I bought him.
And I remember that he had already gotten a lot darker in the week it took me to photograph him.
Day 1-Pure white, with a couple smudges of what I thought was black, making me realize he was marble. I named him Domino, since I thought he'd end up looking all black-and-white.
Day 7-10-The marble spread, and now he has clear spots of white, cellophane, and black.
Now (2-3 months)-Some lights he looks blue-black, but I caught him with flash and he's really a copper. Nearly solid, except for some cellophane/white stripes along half of his bottom fin, and the tips of his tail. He's now also developing some spots of bright red, which makes me wonder if he's going to change again.
I love the surprise change into a copper, if only because it's my absolute favorite color on bettas.
He's a real clown, and is either the most stupid, or most curious of any bettas I've had. He has to "mouth" everything. Roots, moss, leaves. I once watched him spend 30 minutes trying to eat a piece of gravel that was the same red as some granules...
He likes to swim upside down, and sideways, and poke himself into the oddest of places.
