My Betta, Independence!

This is my betta, Independence. I must admit, I'm new to betta owning. I joined this site because they helped me figure out what was wrong with my Crowntail Betta, Meowingtons. Sadly, I was to slow, and poor Meowingtons passed away an hour ago.....
As a memorial, I decided to join and show other betta lovers his rival, Independence. He is a beautiful little guy, with pink tips to his fins and tail.
He seems unique too, as his bowl light attracts his attention. He also likes the dragon figurine I have next to his bowl, LOL.
Still, he is my last betta, and my great buddy. Please, tell us what you think of him. And if possible, pay your respects to Meowingtons.

Aww I'm sorry to hear about Meowingtons. I can't really tell from your picture, but is Independence a cellophane? He looks pretty, though the picture is really blurry.

Oh! No, he doesn't.
But I have a question.

His bowl has a light that shines down into the water. One of its settings involves it fading from one color, turning off, then coming back on in a different color. Will this have any negative effects on him? Im extremely paranoid due to Meowington's passing.

I don't think it would.. if you see him acting strange while you have it on then just turn it off. :P

Only thing strange is that he just looks at the beams that shine in the tank...I think he is just curious.

Isn't interesting how the betta fish pays attention? My Violet (my very first betta... this is my 3rd day having her) sometimes stops to just watch me (she's on my desk). I love to watch her swim, then stop, swim, then stop, do some crazy acrobatic swimming, then just coast along~ =)

I'm sorry to hear about Meowingtons~ =( That's the reason why I joined here, to learn how to take care of Violet.

Yea, I miss Meowingtons, but Independence is filling the void just fine.

He stares at the dragon figurine beside his bowl, he stares at the food, he stares at his shadow, and he follows my finger. They are very interesting fish.
