Bubbles when they eat...?

So, I now have two female bettas getting along really well together in a 10 gallon with a few platys. I was feeding them the other night sitting with my fiance watching them and he made mention that they all, though the female bettas, make a ton of bubbles through their gills when they eat from the surface. It was just weird and cool. It happens especially when they eat flake food instead of pellets.

Has anyone else noticed their fishies doing this?

I notice my fish does this sometimes too! And I was reading your fish list, and you like the legend of Zelda? I'm embaressed to admit it, but Im addicted on that game. I was actually about to name my fish Jabu-jabu, though in that game I seriously want to no what happened to him! And ralis is that prince from twilight, right? And that just leaves one more question.... Is Navi the cat SUPER annoying like hid namesake?
