alright, I was ready to update, he was looking great, he was getting his color, then SMACK. I checked on my fish this morning to find the fin rot is back and worse, pin holes all over his tail, one big rip and one little. GAHHHHHHHHHH. SPOCK! DX
so I'm giving up and sticking him in a vase. ( 1 gallon ) with nothing else in it except salt, while I quarantine his tank and him. here's where I need help.
I don't have a QT tank so like I said, very clean 1 gallon vase. the one in his tank if it's big enough. 2 teaspoons for one gallon right?
the other thing is fixing the tank. it's heavily planted and cycled so this shouldn't be ammonia. I'm thinking the new plants I had had germs even though I rinsed them a ton with lots of hot ( non chlorinated ) water :/ and that it got the rest of his tail :/ should I just add really hot water now that he's out? or is there something else I can do? I'm also worried about killing the cycled bits but I dunno.... .-. help? :/
edit: he's still in the tank right now and I added in a tablespoon of salt ( five gallon )
while I wait, but I need to change the water anyway and I don't want to kill the plants if I can help it >.<;
the vase is only half a gallon, so one teaspoon?
