Betta's need a heater set between 70*-82*.
All my tanks are kept at 80*F.

Goldies do not. Unless your house is insanely cold.

OK. So one would fit in a 10 gallon tank with filter and low heater?

Could I put any small fish in its tank?

Would a goldfish fit in a 10 gallon?
If you are talking about a goldfish, then sorry, but no.
The smallest type is fancy, and they should have a 30 gallon for one mature fancy. Additional goldfish require 10 gallons added to the 30 gallon.

Goldfish are cold water fish, they don't need heaters :) but they need powerful filters considering the amount of waste they create...

wikis aren't good places to get info on pet care. you'd need to find a goldfish forum, like this one. i was always told 20 gallons for ONE fancy goldfish, plus 10 gallons for each additional goldfish. x:

VTs get upto 8 inches in length so you would probably have the same calculations..
