Would this be too stressful?

Over the last few days I have been trying to get my new black orchid male to flare. I don't know whether he's delta, super delta or halfmoon and I would like to find out. As well, I would like to get a look at the condition of his fins and make sure there are zero rips or tears.

He does flare if he sees my females but the spot I have to put him in for him to see is just too awkward for me to actually get a good look.

I have an isolation tank and I was thinking I could put him into the sorority for a few minutes, within the isolation tank of course.

I could also stick him into my small photo tank and float a female in a jar. I do not want to upset the heirarchy of my sorority though...

What do you think would be less stressful for all invovled? Any other ideas on how to get the fish to flare?

Just dont do it often. Itll be fine.

I needed to check one of my guys out quick and floated his bag in another male's tank, flares abound! Actually, they were lunging at eachother, biting. A little scary.
