Lol, no.. Not exactly. What kind of media does your filter have? Any ceramic media or extra sponge? If you do just put it in the filter for the new tank. Even if that isn't possible, the rocks will work fine.

That depends on what you have in it. If you have those bio balls/ stars or ceramic rings or even the foam, its cool.. But take only a few and replace the ones you took out as well.

That's Ok :). Make sure you don't take it all out otherwise the other tank will crash. Take out some foam and put it in the filter with whatever other new media you put in for the new tank. And replace the foam you removed from the established tank as well with new foam. Put in some of those rocks from the established tank too and your tank will cycle fast. Just make sure you check the parameters in the water and make partial water changes to keep them stable. :)

Do I need to make the water changes if there are no fish in it currently? or do I still need to add the tetras to cycle it? The post you linked said that it doesnt cycle... mearly helps.

Yeah, you still need fish but its faster this way and you will need to do water changes with the fish in there. Even otherwise without fish if the ammonia levels are too high, you should do partial changes.. I maybe wrong about that though..
Anyway, I have to go to bed now its 3:30 am.. I'll talk to you tomorrow?
