None. I recommend at least a 20 gallon for a group of females. You have to have lots of hiding places. Make sure you have a place to put bully females. It's not uncommon for fights to break out.

A 10 gallon tank is the bare minimum for putting females together. Even then, there should be no less than 4 occupying the tank at a time. Even though they are capable of co-existing together, they can potentially be as aggressive as their male counterparts. So it is important to spread out the aggression by having 4 or more.
As for the one gallon, as everyone else has said, one betta is the maximum. Sometimes depending on the size of the fish, even that can be too small. A lot of members of this forum will recommend a 2 gallon tank or higher to keep a betta comfortable.

My minimum tank size opinion is 5 gallons. And the other TC's on Y ans. agree with me. You can not filter a 1 gallon, everything will be to strong (except a sponge, and those do not work the best) and I would not heat it either. The smaller the heater, the more likely it is to over heat. Not even one could fit in there. Sorry.

I would start a small red cherry shrimp tank with a piece of java moss and a sponge filter. Great for shrimp because of the small bio-load they produce.
