Water conditioners...

I need more info on water conditioners. My mom says not to use them, but I don't know the benefits of using it in my tanks. I have 2 .5 tanks and a 1.5 gallon tank... so is it really needed?

Do I need it?
What are the benefits?
Anything else I should know about water conditioners?
What is a brand you recommend?

I really want to give my Betta fish the best, but my budget is small and my parents are weird... so um yeah. Any advice I can get is welcomed!

Thanks guys!

YES YOUR FISH NEED IT! water conditioner removes the chlorine, chloramine and hard metals in your water that would otherwise be very harmful to your fish! Prime and Topfin are good cheap brands.

So what if your tanks are small, the water all comes from your taps. Tap water is not natural for fish and very dangerous to them! Other benefits is that most conditioners have a stress coat in them that replenishes the fish's natural slime coat when they're stressed.

yes, your fish do need it. they would probably die without it.

it removes chlorine, chloramine, nitrogen, other hard metals, and ammonia.
i recommend top fin or aqueon.

i also recommend you going to the sticky in this forum titled, "Your New Betta - Day One!" it's very helpful on everything you need. (:

Yes, as explained already, the fish needs it. Prime is the best brand on the market, IMO. AND it is economical using only 2 drops per gal. of water! :)

You definitely need it! I recommend Dechlor and API's StressCoat.
