Not really a breeding question, but...

I thought I'd post this here anyway.I know that several of you breeders are very knowledgeable in genetics. :) I have a cellophane betta and I'd like to know if they are prone to eye problems and/or blindness. I'm wondering because my cellophane seems to not see his food real well. He'll swim right by it and when he does see it, he kind of "snaps" at it and misses. After 3 or 4 attempts, he'll get it. He also seems to not like a whole lot of light. Any info you guys can give me on cellophanes would be helpful.

Sorry I have no experience with blind bettas other from fights or diseases. Once in a while, after showing health problems, mine can spot food but can't catch it right away. It knows the food is there but needs to snap at it a few times before catching it - just like yours. ..... I don't know what's wrong with it. Hope someone can answer your question soon.

Thanks, Maggie. I think my cellophane is blind. He seems to not be able to see his food. He seems to swim kind of cautiously, too. What I wanted to know was if cellophanes were prone to blindness. I know albinos are. And I was wondering what the difference was between cellophanes and albinos besides the red eyes.
