if your anubias is doing well but the fern is not, it might be a fungus thing. let me see what a few of my buddies say about it on the planted aquarium forums.

if it is not bacterial (since the hydrogen peroxide did not work, all my friends suggested that fertilizers with potassium were needed that it is probably a defeciency. try seachem flourish and follow the instructions.

well i went to the pet store to get the seachem flourish and a really nice-looking java fern caught my eye lol :p
i just thought maybe i might have more luck with this one cause i bought it healthy unlike the other one which was already brown and ugly when i purchased it. but i also bought the flourish and have been dosing 0.3 mL twice a week on my 3.5 gal. :)

it was weird when i took out the old fern it completely fell apart! its like the rhizome wasn't even it one piece...

but yeah i just kept the best pieces and put them in a little vase (i dont even know why im keeping them lol)

aaaaandd my new fern

thank you for your help though! i really appreciate it<3
and if anything goes wrong i shall update!

fertilize the remaining leaves. some will produce new roots and some will produce new babies on the leaves themselves. then you will have more than you need
