Female laid eggs

I was on the phone, watching her wiggle and suddenly about 50 white dots flew out all around her and she scrambled to eat them. No worry but just a SHOCK lol! Shes still big and round though, i guess she had to make room :P

wait... the female just shot out all her unfertilized eggs then ate them? That is quite strange... I didn't know they did that.

Yes, they do this on a regular basis...either drop and eat the unripe eggs or not or they will absorb them....also, its not uncommon for the poop to look different too...usually whitish, gel look to it...not to be confused with internal parasites unless the poop changes are on-going....as DQ posted nothing to worry about and normal...yummy protein meal....

lol Yep, She had a glimpse here and there of my male in a divided tank through mesh, It was just odd because id never seen such a thing. Shes just swimming along the filter current wiggling at me for a snack and 50 eggs fly out around her...She made herself a snack i guess lol :P
She ate most but during the next gravel vac i got a few she had missed, Shes plumping up again though. I only had my first female 2 weeks so i didnt see this happen with her. Later she did poop a whitish brown, i searched around to be sure it was just eggs.
