Accidental Shredded Fins

I was cleaning tanks today, so both my babies were in their separate buckets to chillax while I clean, I leave for TEN MINUTES and somehow when I return, Lin is in Lelouch's bucket and they beat the snot out of each other.

Their buckets are those plastic icecream tubs, about 3L each (maybe more? I dunno) and translucent.....how is it that she cleared a 3" bucket height and happened to pick the side Lelouch's bucket was on? Mathematically circles only touch at one point.

Construction probably scared her to jump, #&$@^*#&$@#. I put Lulu back in his tank and Lin is in hers now, both of them have green tea bags (decaf). They look and act like nothing happened but both have shredded fins :/

Is there anything more I can do? They're both active as normal minus their appearance. Lulu has one giant rip in his tail and a nibbled dorsal. Lin has one big chunk out of tail and anal fin has a bunch of small-medium rips.

((-_- never changing tanks at the same time again))

There is a medication you can give that will help, its a simple as tannins in water with a little salt. I don't know the exact mix so I will let a professional prescribe something.

I have "Naturally Extracted Sea Salt, Non-iodized" is that okay? If not then I'm going up to Petsmart to get plants (and AQsalt) on Thursday/Friday

eeeee...no I'd get the AQ salt for fish. I'm not sure about iodized salt- I think that's more for cooking purposes. :/ Just to be safe, get the salt at Petsmart :)

for shredded fins, all you need is clean water. x: Indian Almond Leaves(or any tannins, really) help them grow back faster, and the AQ salt just keeps everything a little extra clean. but, Cup was fine on just clean water for a few weeks when he 'had a fight' with a plastic plant(i say had a fight. really he just ripped his fins to shreds on it).

Ahh okay, I'll grab the AQ salt ANYWAY just in case, but won't use any.

Gawd I need to empty out one of my drawers for all my fishy stuff XD
