HELP! NEW FISH may be sick but I don't know.

My new betta Icen is really small. He has his full color, but is way smaller than the others. I'm just worried, but is he just like young and will grow normal size? And if he will grow how long does it usually take? It's just so weird because I've never seen such a small one before. He's not like tiny tiny, well here's a picture.

So yeah.. Questions:

Is he sick or just a ' baby ' and will grow?
How long does this take for them to grow?
Will I need to feed him differently?

Thanks!

Please fill out the above as much as you can. That pic of him is sooo creepy looking with the flash. He looks really clamped up... if you just got him he might just need some time to settle and try to keep the tank dark. There's not much that I can come up with w/o the details quoted above.

His fins are a little raggedy but he looks fine to me!!! He's probably just a baby, with good care he'll probably grow to be a normal sized betta =) When I got my Finley he was tinyyyy but he grew to normal size in about 6ish months time.

Jrf456, is he acting sick? If he isn't acting sick, I would say he's just a small guy who needs to grow a bit.

I think he is young but he also needs to fill out a bit, he looks thin. A good protein diet would help to fatten him up and grow those fins :D

Thanks guys, he looks healthy and doesn't show any signs of sickness, just worried about his size. Guess he's just a baby! (:

Good quality noms fed 3 times a day in small quantities will really help him grow, its better than feeding a lot at once or twice because he may not be able to use the nutrients to the fullest at one time. Smaller amount, 3-4 times will help him absorb more of the good stuff!

Cool tip, thanks! I'll start that tomorrow since he's already gobbled down 5 flakes and a worm today!
