How To: Planted Tank Question

in my planted tank, 10g i have a lilly bulb plant that has sprouted and one of the stems have sprouted and growing roots but still connected to orig bulb plant


how do i trim this plant without killing it, ive got 3 big lilly pads on top of the water, while the betta loves it, its taking away light i fee from the other plants...

Can we get a picture?

Generally, when trimming, keep the plant underwater to reduce trauma.

Aww, but they look so good! D:

If you want to trim them, cut under water with as sharp of a knife as possible or scissors if you cant get an exacto knife or razor.

Why not move it over, like to a side of the tank? :O

i dunno, i might see how that goes, i do know Elvis absolutely loves to build bubble nests under them, and i caught him last night laying on one of them was quite interesting to see.. i thought he was dead, i lifted the lid of the tank and he bolted down into the onion grass...
