Hi, I was reading about Aoi, he sounds like the cutest little guy! I don't think you should worry about the pink unless it does something weird like grows.. :/
I have a guy who's scales melted off because of ammonia burns and his skin is really pink! It looks raw and sore.. His scales are slowly coming in so you can see a faint shininess to the skin itself, doesn't have any colour yet.. Just letting you know so you'll know what to expect. :D

LOL, nah. I didn't. XD Though, I did look at their betta display at Pets Unlimited and I must say! I was impressed!!! All their bettas were beautiful and healthy! The water was clear as crystal, and in the cup to where it was high enough for them to move, and still had room to breathe!
(Still don't overly approve of the cups; but ehhh.)

fightergirl2710- His skin is pretty pink, and I've been making sure it doesn't get inflamed and whatnot...I seriously do think he's hitting something in his tank that's injuring him. I'm just not sure what >>

They can be pretty spazzy that way, my girl Peaches bonks into everything in her path, sometimes she'll have scabs or scratches on her sides, I realised I can't keep QTing the crazy girl every week so I just keep the water really extra clean in the tank. No problems yet lol!
Btw does he jump? Peaches jumps a lot, even if she sees some food stuck on the glass, she'll jump at it and slam herself against the glass or lid, I think most of her injuries come up that way. :/ Luckily they've all been just tiny scratches..

No, surprisingly, he doesn't jump. Only time he'll jump is if I have a pellet of betta food stuck to my finger and holding it above his tank water. Even then, it's not a high jump.

--Now that I said that, watch him start doing it. lol

Ooger.. Would a 3 gallon cycle? I've never heard of anything less than 5 cycling
I replied there but my answer is solely based on what I've read here before.. Never used these products myself, they aren't available to me :(.

Well...Not ACTUALLY cycle, per say lmao.
But I'm letting his tank run by itself without my fish for awhile.

O.o; dunno why I keep saying it's cycling.
