Water Parameters???

Can someone let me know what the ideal ranges are for the water parameters for a tank. I am about to test it but I am using testing strips from our pool so I don't know what are ok ranges. Any and all help is wonderfull :)

Lol! This should probably be in habitats and accesories but its ok, a Mod will move it if it's a problem. :)
As for water paras Ammonia should be at 0, Nitrites at 0 and Nitrates at >50 as far as I know. :D

lol i thought so after i posted it. I always do that. I need to work on it. And thanks! I don't know if the strips I have test ammonia but it tests ph and everything else. Thanks for the help. Oh, is there any really good trustworthy sites you use for info like this on bettas? Other than this one of course :)

You could try bettatalk, before I found this site I took a lot of info from there. :) Your pH should be around 7 btw ;)

Generally, you want the pH to be stable and avoid the extremes....Bettas will adapt to your source water pH and not recommended that you change the pH....

Ammonia and nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 5-10ppm and less than 30ppm
High nitrate can affect immune response, growth/development and sudden change with large nitrate swings can cause shock...
