Black females?

Is it only melano females that are infertile? How can you tell if a female is melano? I know the males have a blueish sheen to them, are the females the same? I'm looking into getting a black female but I don't want her to be infertile. Thanks .

black lace females are not infertile. i have one and plan to spawn it as soon as it is big enough.
