I used to crochet doilies with thread. Loved it. Gave them away at Christmas and people were like "oh, nice". No one appreciates the work that goes into something like that.

Now I keep most everything I do.

Yea I know what u mean. I've only given scarfs to my mom, grandma and my 2 close cousins. Is it really hard to make doilies with the crochet thread ?

Im on my 3rd pair of slippers for my grandmother - made her a pair last yr for easter, it got caught on a nail and unraveled... Shes also going in to get hip surgery soon and she "hinted" shed like some slippers for at the hospital.

Not if you keep good track of your place in the pattern and start with a simple one.

I like working with crochet thread better than working with yarn. It's a little easier to control, I think.
