today at work there was some of the "cozy wool" (can't remember what brand- loops and threads i think?) for 1.79 per skein on clearance. but! it wasn't in the system as clearance so i got my discount on it!!! i bought 10 skeins. i want to make an afghan :)

Quad post buuuut I'm finally close to the end of side ONE of my pillow. i seem to be steadily getting faster though. so many projects i want to start!! Anxious to begin my afghan, dying to make the other two pillows in this set of patterns, and wantijg to makeva zillion other things too. i love knitting!

excuse mytypos. I'm worse on my phone thsn on a computrr!!

Ok knitters and crocheters, I've been toying of learning to knit and/or crochet. How do I get started? Best way to learn if no one around me does this? Starter materials? Any other info is greatly appreciated.

For me, the easiest way was to watch a ridiculous amount of YouTube tutorials, find a channel that had videos that were easiest for me to understand, go out and grab the recommended yarn and needles/hook from those videos and just copy the presenter.

There will be messes, there will be failed patterns, and there will be frustration initially. But don't be discouraged, we all have to go through that phase, and you'll get there!

i'm with Sparrowhawk. I use knittinghelp.com, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, and then just pick out easy patterns to learn stitches with. :)

finished (almost) my first pillow. just need a pillow form. on my second!!

I'm waiting on a super-duper-awesome pair of circular needles to arrive before beginning a baby beanie. Le boyfriend's brother and his girl are expecting, nawww! So it's time to KNIT/CROCHET ALL THE BABY STUFF!

omg i'd be so excited to make baby stuff. how fun!!!!!

i'm still dying to start my afghan but i'm trying to learn other stuff first >.< the pattern i found is relatively simple looking tough so...i might just start it
