@cajunamy- :D Yeah I was thinking maybe garter, but I like how stockinette is flat :3 I'll flatten down once I block it and start using it. I have tow of 'em now! woo woo!

Nice, youlovegnats. Coasters are fun because they're so easy and small! Suggestion: to keep the edges from curling, cast on and then knit 5 rows in garter or seed stitch and then when you start stockinette, make sure the first 5 and last 5 stitches are either in garter or seed too. Finish with 5 rows of your border and you're good to go.

The border tip works really well for stockinette scarves, too. And really, it can be any number of stitches at the side, just make sure it's more than 3. Anything less and I found it doesn't keep the edge from curling as much.

Youlovegnats, hopefully blocking will help straighten things out? The one thing I hate about stockinette is that darn curl.

Rachael, I'm so glad you love the knifty knitter! And now I believe there are a few books out there with patterns for them, too. I think you can even make a sweater on the round one.

I've got a round knifty knitter set. If it didn't cost so much to send I'd send you mine.
