You could try putting medical tape or a bandaid over them. That might work. I definitely want you to finish your scarf, I want to see pics! :)

Thanks for the tips, Rachael. I only have cats but I think they'd love a toy like this. They ignore all their store bought toys and only play with yarn strings and occasionally some of my gauge swatches. They ball the swatch up and rabbit kick them.

I know what you mean about the temp. I almost stop completely during the summer here in CA and then take it back up in winter. Which doesn't make sense since knitted items are needed most in winter so I should get them finished and ready in the summer. >.<

Could anyone help me with a pattern?
Pattern instructions:
Quote:
Hat Brim:
With size US 6 needles and RS facing, pick up 13 (15, 17) stitches on each side of marked stitch, ending with a total of 26 (30, 34) stitches on your needle.

slip 1, p24 (28, 32), W&T

k23 (27, 31), W&T
p22 (26, 30), W&T
Repeat the last two rows, working one less stitch before the Wrap & Turn until you have worked
p16 (18, 22), W&T.

Next row (turning row): p16 (18, 22), W&T

p16 (18, 22), k1, W&T

k17 (19, 23), p1, W&T
Repeat the last two rows, working one more stitch plus a k1 or p1 at the end of the row before the Wrap & Turn, until you have worked k23 (27, 31), p1, W&T.

Leave wrapped stitch on right hand needle, knit next stitch, pass wrapped stitch over. Bind off remaining stitches knitwise.
First, when I did the first row I had one stitch left at the end to W&T, is that right?
I have everything figured out up to the bold. The way it's written (to me) it seems they want me to purl the next 3 rows which I know is wrong.
Is there anyway you can explain how to do the bolded?

Is the hat brim going to be folded over? If so, then I think they DO want you to purl the next three rows because it will create a garter stitch band (garter stitch of reverse stockinette, can't remember which) and that band is where you will fold the brim over. It basically marks the spot for the fold and makes a crease so it will fold over easy. If it's not going to be folded over, then it's a pattern mistake and you will probably continue in stockinette.
