Its a male.. Females have short fins and eggspots. :)

Either a veiltail with fin damage or a crowntail male. Pretty coloring. But definitely male.

yes his fins are damaged :(

Very clean water, lots of water changes, and aquarium salt. If he doesn't have any live plants and his tank isn't too big (not over 5 gallons), you can treat him in there. The dosage of aquarium salt is 1 tsp per gallon. And IAL. That will help a lot too. Change the water every day, at least 50%. This should help get those fins back to normal so he can flare them out and be beautiful.

My tank is 8g

what should i do then?

As I said, you can fill it up only 2-4 gallons (halfway up) so that water changes and dosing is easier.. :)
Or you can use a one gallon bowl or plastic container to keep him in. I quarantine my sick bettas in a plastic 5 litre box...
