Planning a Sorority Tank for 6 bettas

I know they are going to go at and attack each other to establish a pecking order, I know its gonna be hard to watch and I know I will need to medicate them.

I just need a little help on how to set it up.

The tank is going to be 10gallons, I am going to have plenty of plants and hiding spaces for them, and I am going to have it heated and filtered.

My Main question is do I medicate before they are placed in the tank, after, or wait until a pecking order is established?

Any other information would be highly appreciated as well.

I didn't medicate at all. Clean, cycled water is medication enough in my opinion. I had very agressive females and their were some ripped fins but they healed extremely quickly.

Like you said, lots of hiding places is key.

id wait utill after, my girls (7 in a 20) didnt get that bad. they bickerd a bit, but didnt do much damage.

WATCH A LONG TIME. thats what i did. I wanted to give up, but ended up not. Best decison ever. I'm so glad i Didn't. Just have faith in them! and have a lot of things to quarintine with. I had a 3 way breeder and two nets. I used all of it!
So, good luck.
I'd keep them in a circle for a while in their cups so they can all see each other, then start adding them.

Thankyou, everyone seems to be getting along. They have been living together for almost 24 hours now. No nipping, and the gill flaring has almost completely stopped. The chases still happen though.
