Question Something i Noticed.

Today i get home to feed my fry and i have a huge amount so I'm trying to keep it this way and my BBS did not hatch yet so i placed my thinking cap on and i tried something that worked. i placed an air supply with a sandstone pumping gently enough to move the water but not rough for the fry. i then squirted a few drops of fry liquid food and observed for a bit. as the food moved around do to the movement of the air they all started to eat the food. i have been reading alot about betas and their breeding and one thing i keep reading is that they need live food because it moves. I'm posting this to see if this is something anyone else has tried.

So basically what you are saying is that you are making it seem like the food is alive even when it is not? Certainly an interesting concept.

Since I have only minimal knowledge of breeding bettas I wouldn't really know if this is good or bad. But I hope it works!

Its not so much that you can't successfully raise Betta fry with commercial or non=live food...its done everyday....its more that it is easier and accepted by fry faster....nothing wrong IMO to use non=live foods....finding what works for you is what it is all about......and good idea too....more than one way to do a lot of things.......hope you share some pics and congrats on the successful spawn and if I haven't already...welcome to the forum.......

I'm doing that currently with the betta fry I found at Petco that's about 4-6 weeks old. The first day she wouldn't eat anything unless it was BBS. I've noticed since then that the filter in her tank moves the crushed flakes around that I've been supplmenting her with, and she's been excepting those more than the BBS now.

I'm still trying to get the hang of the cameras focus. there are so many fish i could only get the ones in the top. I lost count around 250.
