After many set backs, I'm going to attempt my first spawn. Not the ones I planned, but moving forward!!
I had to rush out of town for 5 days for a death in the family, leaving my daughter to care for my fish, stuffed my starter cultures in the fridge.. came back home to my Thai Black Copper HM male with his tail chewed to shreads, now he is in QT .Was supposed to have 4 females delivered that week but they were delayed in shipping till I got home. Included in that shipment I had ordered a pair of Black Orchid CT, alas both males were DOA, and the female is full of eggs and ready. Going to be several weeks or more for replacement, so I decided to use Dallas (Royal Blue CT male)x Black Orchid CT female. Spawning tank is ready, heater, sponge filter, full of hornwort, several baby blue mystery snails, female is inside tank in container and Dallas is in "LOVE". Have 3 worm cultures up and running, BW,WW & MW. Have plenty of skeeter larva, fry starter, DBSE,APR,Spirulina Powder...did I cover everything?? I have even started jar collecting for seperating fry, If I'm that lucky!
If all my reading has paid off, I'm hoping for a successful spawn. Interested in the colors they will produce.
Oh and have a list of friends and family that are waiting!!
