Can't. iPod touchs don't work the same as classic , shuffle, and nano know way to enabl disk mode without downloading apps on the iPod and computer( don't want to mess with it) and the water is in that general area as I said I only have a pool test kit and it doesn't have a very wide range. It's higher than usual. Might go to pets art today so I'll look for things. Get some ghost shrimp for my smaller tank :D

I have an iPod touch 4th Gen, it works fine for me. The second I plug it in it opens both iTunes (ugh) and offers to open the disc.

Be sure and sift the soil before you use it to get any large chunks of debris out and use either sand or gravel....you don't need both and lots of stem plants to start off with....75% of the floor needs to be in stem plants and 25% with floating plants....if you can't start with enough of the right plants I wouldn't set it up yet until you get them and the right kind of light....success of a natural planted soil base tank is based on number and species of live plants that are actively growing...without the proper light....you may not get proper plant growth that will keep the water safe

Place the plants in a container of water that will fully cover them and place by a sunny window to keep them growing...room temp...what is your room temp....if between 70-80...plants should be fine....

Okay. Thank everyone I soon as I get a new memory card or find the old one I'll try to post pics. Went to petsmart and get a snail plant and minnows they did have a thing. No african dwarf frogs ghost shrimp. Ugh and the poor bettas in their blue water, plus they had 10+ maybe 20 mystery snails in 3 cups of water on the counter ther shells were horrible and some floating. :'(
