Favorite Accessories!

So I was browsing online and looking at a variety of accessories that are available for aquariums. There is a lot of neat stuff out there! I never had the tank or chance to buy nifty accessories to perk up my tank, but I did have these pretty clear plastic seashells, gems, and starfish that I am rather fond of.

So what are your favorite tank accessories? Anything on a wish-list?

The Chi fish tank... thats a wish that may come true soon, lol
and LIVE plants (just started getting into that)
and blacksand, I would love to get some but its so pricy :/

I never saw black sand! I'd be too nervous to put sand in my tank. I'm sticking to gravel, but would LOVE to find alternatives, like those pretty clear stones they sell as decorations.

the glass rocks? I saw them for the first time at petsmart... they were really tiny tough, the black sand is BEAUTIFUL in a tank, and suppocidly it doesnt show poop or anything as bad (theres a thread on how to clean snd and it actually seems pretty easy) :)

I have gravel now..but I miss having sand..I will switch up once I find a nice dark sand...I like having aquarium sealant always..it is pretty great for making DIY aquarium decor and such haha.

Yeah, they are glass stones but they are bigger than those colored gravel rocks. I am not a fan of colored gravel because it chips paint over time and I HATE small gravel because its a pain to clean for a 100% change. That, and, I like shiny things. Haha. So occasionally, I look for gravel substitutes for my future fish. I am making preparations from when I get back from England, you see.

I saw the sane thread, but don't feel experienced enough to even attempt.

I am also becoming a fan of these really soft fabric rainbow plants I saw at my LFS, but I dislike how the store treats bettas and they are WAY over priced.

I have sand in one tank and its alot of work. I personally try to avoid sand now.

Why do you avoid it?
