Best use of tanks?

So here is an odd question but I think it best fits in this section.
I have three tanks a 5gal, 10 gal, and 6ish bookshelf tank to use for breeding what do you think is the best use of these tanks for breeding. Usually I use the ten gal for spawning and growout but do you think I could use the 6 bookshelf to breed in and move the fry to the ten and 5 for growout? My fish tend to like to spawn in the 6 as it is long and shallower compared to the other 5 one which is tall. Any ideas ?

I'd love to have a 6 gal bookshelf. I looked at buying one but I couldnt' justify spending that much on such a small tank.

Personally I like to spawn in smaller tanks, 5 or 6 gallons or smaller. So I'd spawn in one of those and use the 10 for grow out, keep in mind though that even split between a 10 and a 5 gallon you're going to need to keep the spawn very small to ensure proper growth. You might consider spawning in the smaller tank, moving to the 10 gallon until they're 4-6 weeks old and then moving them to a larger tub that's around 30 or so gallons.
