So, I have a planted tank... I want to keep a log about it. :P

Looking good. Is it a ten gallon?

For better pictures, keep an external light on far enough away and also keep the tank light on. Is it on? If so, its very dim! If you havent switched already, florescent (and better yet compact florescent) bulbs work better for growth and pictures than do incandescent.

It is a 10 gallon! It was all I could find in storage. :)

I'd use a compact light fixture if I could, but I currently don't have a place to attach it to/ hang it, and I can't hang it on the tank or it'd brake/fall in the water, and my parents didn't particularly like a wire from the light fixture hanging overhead.
The reason I don't have a proper light is because I used to have this tank outside, with natural sun, but the temperatures started soaring, and that wasn't good. :I

I like planted tank logs... I also like the looks of this one so far.

Walmart sells a perfect fluorescent tube light for only $5 each from lights of America. Its fantastic and works well. Some CFL's fit in the 10 gallon hoods, but if the spirals touch the metal reflector, they cant be used. The Tube lights are great in that they wont touch, though theyre more expensive. :D
