Dividing the tank

hey guy i was thinking about splitting my 10 gal in half to get two bettas but im not really sure if both sides need a heater or what you really need to make that work. Any tips? id love to hear em

I don't think you would need two heaters for one tank even if it were divided:)

Nope, you dont. Some people have fair luck with a heater on one side and filter on the other (if angled correctly) and some have better luck witht he filter and heater beside each other, which takes the heater's heated water and sucks it up and pushes it around the tank.

As long as you have mesh or drilled dividers, you dont need* two of anything.

You can get Topfin at Petsmart,and I think Petco has a different brand.Or you could just make some.

yeah i was looking at them and i couldnt tell if they are seethrough or like frosted looking cuz i dont want the two fighting cuz they can see eachother all the time .

I recommend not making them, so long as price isnt an issue. I like Top Fin's dividers. The other brand is PenPlax or something.

The only issue is their divider is clear. This can be fixed easily, though, by getting those cheap sections of plastic craft mesh/canvas used for crochet and putting those in instead. I use them and love it. Not only are they hard to see through, but you can get them in lots of colors, including colors that blend in.

Theyre usually .50-.99$, so even if you mess up cutting it, no harm no foul!

I have the Topfin ones in my 10 gallons and they are see through.

I don't like making them either bot I was just listing the options:)
