I may have found a tank, guys and gals

I was looking around Petco, and I saw a plastic betta keeper/kritter keeper and I did the online conversion, but I wanted to make sure I got it right.

I found a container that's 14.5x9.75x8.75 and it came out to just over five gallons. Is that right?

Yay!

Yay! I am super short on money, and I knew I wouldn't be able to get a glass tank, so it's super relieving that I can get a roomy tank for a potential baby.

Would this be good for a potential baby boy I'd bring home? I'd give him little pots to hide in, some plants, and get a heater.

Yeah! Anything that's over 2 gallons is great for a betta :) I'm sure your new potential boy will be very happy ^^

Yay. What would be the water change schedule on that? And would I be able to heat it okay?

yup! Heating it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to get a thermometer (real one not those sticker ones) and the water changes should be one 50% change weekly (I believe, unless someone corrects me). :)

That doesn't sound so bad. Would it still be a fifty percent change weekly if I split it to put two boys in?

Mmmm if you did 2 boys, then I would do one 50% and one 20% weekly, just because of the extra ammonia.

Hm, that doesn't seem bad either. And are plastic keepers okay? Or is it better to get a glass tank?

I just want to make my potential fish happy...
