What water conditioner do you use?

So i am running out on some water conditioner and was wondering what you use. How do you dose water conditioner when you have a 1.5 gallon tank and the regular dosage is, for api's, 1 tsp per 10 gallons. Can i use this water conditioner

You could, but correct dosage would be hard.

I use Seachem's Prime. If you get a smaller bottle it uses a dropped instead of teaspoons or lids. In the two 1.5g I'm using I put 4 drops. It's 2 drops per gallon, and I use 4 just because I like to be on the super safe side with my boys.

We use Stress Coat with ours, it says one cap full per 10g. So we do 1/4 of a cap full per 2.5g (usually a bit more). Since I have 3 tanks, I treat 5gal of water and toss the extra into one of my tropical tanks :)

I wish we could get prime here!

I also usestress coat. There is a marking on the cap for 1 gallon, 5 gallon and 10 gallon is a cap full.

i have also used betta bowl plus which is supposed to be for small tanks

Dosing tanks depends upon the conditioner - each brand has their own measurements.

Over-dosing on conditioner isn't harmful per se, but try to get as close as you can. Over is okay, under isn't.

To be really accurate, I recommend getting a medicine dropper from your local pharmacy or drugstore. It should have measurements on the side, ideally in milliliters (ml) because it's a more accurate way to measure.

Then you do some maths!

1 tsp = 5 ml
5 ml / 10 gallons = .5 ml per gallon
.5 ml x 1.5 (your tank size) = .75 ml total dosage

Though if it were me, I'd just stick in 1 ml instead of futzing around trying to get .75 :)

NOTE: this example is only based on the conditioner you mentioned. You'll have to do the maths again if you choose a different brand.

And for what it's worth, I use Prime :)
