Ok, so, last night, I finally got a test kit!! YAY!
I'd been debating, but I figured for the goodness of my fish, I might as well :)
So, I whip it out, and I start with pH, it's 7.5. I figure that's pretty alright, could be better.
Next, I go for ammonia. This is where I was scared. I hadn't done a water change in a couple of days (2), so I figured it may be bad, and plus I never cycled (that I knew of!)
the filter is newish, I used it for my other fish (catfish) but I don't replace the pads.
Anyways, for all my tanks (Except my old frog tank that had been empty for a month that had a super high level of ammonia!) read:
I was like, omg no way.
I had other fish in there before that I didn't really take care of, then when I rehomed them, I let their poop sit for a while (because of work and laziness) could it be that it cycled itself with out me knowing?!
both of my tanks are like this.
I have live plants in one, one fake in my catfish thing.
But the decor and rocks for my catfish tank are from someone else, which could be the reason for cycling without my knowing, even though I scrubbed.
Anyone else have this happen to them?
