New 5 gallon home

I finally got a new 5 gallon tank for my Betta. It looks so roomy! All I need to get now is a heater and he will be set! Can't believe I'm so excited for my fish lol. Will post pics when it's all set up and he is in it!

Start cycling it right away with some of his tank ornaments so it'll be ready for him as soon as possible!

I'm really excited to see!

My tank has been cycling for almost 24 hours now. Want to make sure everything is just right for my Betta. It has a filter. I put an air stone in. Should I keep it(air stone) in all the time?

Take out the airstone the Betta doesn't need it.

Whether you want the air stone in or not is up to you. Some bettas love it, some hate it. Since bettas are air breathers is doesn't really make a big difference for them since they don't need to take oxygen directly from the water.

I dont know if you know what cycling really is... (no offense!) Cycling takes weeks, if not months.

Cycling is the nitrogen cycle. Check it out online :)

I actually did. One place said 24 hours. So, that's what I did. Then I looked again and found out it could be up to a month. Uh. Well, he's in any way.

Well what size tank was he in anyways? If you're upgrading to a 5 gallon that means he was probably in something too small to hold a proper cycle before regardless - thus you're moving him from an uncycled tank to a more roomy uncycled tank that probably has better water conditions just on principle of there being more water.

Aka - no harm no foul

Also bettas still breathe though their gills as well as the labyrinth so the airstone isn't going to hurt him in any way. Just make sure it's not bothering him c: Usually smaller tanks have enough water movement from the filter alone to properly support a betta so if he seems stressed try kinking the airtube to lower the bubbles or removing it.
