Tell me about Dwarf Gouramis!

I am considering getting one or a pair of these, Dwarf of course. Anyone here have any? Any pointers? And what's your favorite color/type? I'm doing my research, but it's always nice to hear what others have to say too right? lol

I don't have any info on these, but my favorite color mutations are Powder blue and Flame :)

I like both myself! Hard to choose. I am not even sure I know what my pet store has. I know they have some, but unsure which. I can't wait to get one or two.

I know you lost the tank but I thought I'd share what I know anyway. I have one in my 16, a Dwarf Flame. You probably won't find a male and female pair. Females are much duller then males and they're usually not sold. If you did find a female, if they decide to breed, she'd have to be removed once they're done. Males get crazy territorial, just like bettas and he might kill her.

If you wanted two males, they need 10 gallons each. One might bully the other or they might get along and work out a territory. So, just know you might have to return one. I originally had two after reading the wrong info and I had to return one that very night. I returned the bully. :P

They're adorable and very smart. Mine is amazingly cute and very much like a betta at feeding time. All wiggly and eager. He's in a tank with three Endler's and four corydoras and he gets along just fine with everyone. He does steal food. But he's not aggressive about it, just opportunistic. I'd highly recommend one. They're wonderful.

I think we're going to go with a male :) Our store has regular and honey Dwarfs so we'll get the regular. I really like the bright color. We wanted only one, but some fish need to have groups right? I just wanted to make sure getting one would be ok.

She may have stole the tank out from under me (I payed $150 for my 29g I have now, this one was the same for $45) but I'll just find another. Worst comes to worst, I'll just have to buy a new one for $80 :(

Oh and these will have tank mates, so I do need the larger tank.

No, one is fine and probably preferred. :D. Sorry you lost the tank but you're going to love the lil guy. They're so fun. Mine will spit jets of water at me at feeding time. It's hysterical.
