Stress Zyme+

does anyone use this with stress coat+? i bought a bottle yesterday, i thought it would be good because it says it helps keep aquariums clean, and eliminates sludge and helps prevent ammonia and nitrite poisoning. it also says it helps the development of the tank cycle.

but i've also heard it can screw up the tank cycle. i have a 2.5 unfiltered tank, would it be unnecessary to use this? i haven't opened the bottle yet, so i can return it if need be.

An unfiltered tank is not going to cycle because you are constantly doing whole water changes to remove the ammonia before it builds to levels where nitrites which eat ammonia and in turn nitrates which eat nitrites are developed. I dont think you neccessarily need it. The stress coat plus is sufficient.

With those water changes you shouldn't have to worry about ammonia poisoning and I dont think that it will help keep the tank clean at all. Your keeping it clean enough.
