Feeding Betta's ?

I recently FINALLY got my betta's to eat. At first they would not eat.
Daily they get about three pinches of blood worms and 40 pellets (my sorority females at least) . They barley ever eat the pellets. I've been told to get new pellets and I just ordered some today. They were the omega betta pellets. Currently my water temp is 71. It stays around there. I ordered a heater today, so it will come in about 4-5 days. When I woke up it was 68 in the tank so I added some hot water. I think it is around 75 right now. Don't worry, I watch my temp almost all day.

Sometimes they get a mixture of blood worms, tropical fish food, some other type of freeze dried worms, betta pellets and betta flakes.

Am I feeding too much or unhealthy?
Please let me know brands and amounts you feed your female and male betta's c:

How many are in your sorority?
Also, it's better to leave them in a stable temperature, even if it's cold, rather than shocking them with quick temperature changes by adding hot water. Temperature shock can kill them.

Put a heat source next to the tank instead of pouring in hot water.

40 pellets is probably ok, are you feeding them that twice a day or just once? I would say to feed that twice a day and save the bloodworms for a once or twice a week treat. Freeze dried bloodworms don't have much nutritional value and are really like candy for fish and that is why your girls weren't eating their pellets.

I feed them 3 times a day. I'm a sucker for the food dance. They do it constantly. Every time I walk by the tank they just fallow me.

My betta didn't eat for a while ever since I bought him a different kind of pellets. Last night, I realized he likes them crushed! I felt so proud that I was able to solve this problem before it got too late.

Trippshep, just crush them with your fingernail on a napkin or a hard surface.

I hope this helps!
