My betta's ten-gallon tank has a submersible heater, and I've noticed that a lot of you have a heater like it or similar to it. I have the heater near the bottom of the tank, turned sideways, because I read that it was best that way. I'm concerned about my betta getting burned by the heater if he goes to explore around it. He just swam behind it and under it and seems fine, so I don't know if - it being submersible - they decided to put some type of protective device around it so it doesn't harm or burn the betta. It doesn't really seem to be an issue, but I was wondering if you all think it is safe as it is? I'm considering buying something to hide it behind... But Turbo loves to explore things and hide behind them, so he'd probably find it, anyway... Any ideas?
