white film on top of water

I'm getting this white powedery film on the top of the fishtank. I just changed the water two days ago. It's a 10gal divided, one betta on each side. Heated at 80 and aquaclear 20 filter. There is a mild algae issue in there due to sunlight hitting the tank, but its under control. I do have a betta log in there that's collected algae and other gunk, is that a possible reason?

Probably a combination of dust and protein film. Common problem with low flow tanks that do not have enough surface agitation. Keeping the water level a little lower can help.

Thanks all. On the other side of the divider (without the filter) I have an airstone. Plenty of agitation and never has this issue. Maybe I'll consider an air stone on the filter side. This tank is creeping on 1 year old so I would say it is now "established."
