Due to limited surface area in the smaller filtered tanks for the nitryfing bacteria to colonize..... the nitrogen cycle is not stable and twice weekly water changes are needed to maintain water quality.....

In 2.5gal with a filtered-twice weekly 50%
In 2.5gal unfiltered-twice weekly...1-50% and 1-100%

thank you, i knew that cycling it would be tough to start with. im guessing shuting of the filter wont realy do too much to flood the the tank with ammonia too much because they cant establish much to start with. looks like ive gone with a good WC schedule. im glad i dont have to do 100wc as long as the filter stays on.
