It's okay, we all panic about our betta babies.

As long as the fin rot has not advanced to his body, your odds of curing it are close to 100%. Also, he probably isn't suffering if it's just in his fins. Do you see blackened edges on his fins and are his fins coming off in large chunks? If not, he may be tearing his fins on some sharp decor or plants or tailbiting.

The dosage of aquarium salt is 1 tsp per gallon, pre-dissolve in tank water before adding. A high-protein diet with lots of live or frozen foods is great, warm temps around 80-82*, and clean water will also help the fins heal fast.

his water is at 81* right now its usually between 80 and 84* though.
should i up the salt dosage from 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp per gal?? can that hurt him in any way??
and i do 100% water changes daily. its day 2 right now.

Yes, definitely up the dosage of aquarium salt to 1 tsp per gallon, it won't be effective unless it's at that dosage. It helps if you can find a big 1 gallon jug, then you can mix up the dechlorinated water and the salt and have it all ready for the daily water changes. If he starts twitching or jumping, remove the salt and we'll try a different remedy.

jumping how?? right now he tends to swim near the top and has jumps a little maybe once or twice but that may be normal, he seemed a little more aggressive today during feeding.

Jumping like he's trying to escape the water. Repeatedly, over and over and over. He'll twitch a lot first, though. I think your guy is just acting normal. Maybe the aggressiveness means he's feeling a little better.

i hope so, i just did a water change and upped the salt dosage, im about to put him back in the water

Is that a Petco hex tank? If so, I have one. It's 2 gallons, right? That's big enough as long as you do 1 25% and 1 50% change a week. He looks good.
