Talking Excited! =]!

I bought my first liquid water test kit today!!! It's an API Freshwater Master Test Kit, and it was like forty dollars, but I'm sure it will be worth it! I've heard that they're a lot better than the strip tests. The strip tests that I usually use to monitor my tank are sometimes pretty hard to read. This new one measures pH, high pH range, ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite.. Anything that it's leaving out?? Do I need to get any other tests?

So... I did the test for ammonia.. And I have this vial..full of test water and solution stuff to determine the ammonia level.. And I don't know what to do with it. The instructions say it is corrosive and an irritant.. Don't think pouring it down the sink would be okay... Uh... How do you all dispose of your ammonia-testing vials? :/
By the way, the ammonia is between 0 and .25, so i think it's okay. =)

Pft, I throw it down the sink, lol- water running. Its corrosive in non-dillute form.

Pour it outside.

Lol. Okay. That's good to know. Now I can finally empty out that vial.... Lol. I've had it for a while. xD I've been too afraid to open it. I didn't want to release toxic gas, and I didn't know how to get rid of it once I'd opened it. They really should put things like that on the package!

Haha. Make sure you clean it out now, since it probably is gonna have cruds and residue in it :) Use a Q-tip.

As long as you do it so it wont frighten him and the temps are more or less the same, he'll be fine!
