Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Will be performing WC every other day. I just took him out of QT, in which I did 50% multiple WC over the course of an hour.
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? SeaChem Prime and SeaChem Flourish (he's got a baby Red Ludwigia from my fullgrown and sprouting ones)

He's in brand spanking new water since I brought him home so...:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
pH: 8.2
Hardness: 150 ppm (8.4 GH)
Alkalinity: 120 ppm (6.7 KH)

Symptoms and Treatment

I noticed him immediately around 2 weeks ago at petsmart, over the course of the 2 weeks his appearance has not changed. His tail appears to be literally sliced off. It's straight edged, see pictures!

It looks like someone cut it off with scissors! Poor thing!

Grrrrr. I bet what happened is he was getting fin rot or tail biting or something and they thought if they cut it off, he'd look fine. Super clean warm water and aquarium salt with lots of Stress Coat.

Tail is growing quite well :D...his body is much more grizzled now, too

Somebody cruel and sick does that and I say we find the person and dunk them in dirty fish water.
