Someone more experienced than me will hopefully be along quickly to help!

If you can fill out the sticky that is at the top of this section of the forum it would be very helpful.

In the mean time, do not feed her any more. It is good if she still wants to eat, but it sounds like she might be bloated.
If that is the case someone will recommend epsom salts so try to get some in the meantime if you don't already have them (unscented only!).

So sorry...put her in some clean, de-chlorinated water. Make it pretty shallow so she can get to the surface easily to breath. Some aquarium salt mixed to 1 teaspoon/ gallon of de-chlorinated water couldn't hurt her either. Make sure her water is 78 to 82 degrees.

If you could provide a picture and fill out the form that the site provides for emergencies like these it would help too. Make sure you change her water daily to these specifications...good Luck.

Another thing to keep in mind is her age as well...sometimes their life expectancy does not reach those lofty numbers of 3 to 4...or 5 years. More often than not they live for 1.5 or 2 years, and that is considered "more normal" in most of the cases. Hang in there.

It sounds like SBD.. Follow Berk's instructions but don't use aquarium salt... Use epsom salt, with no fragrance. You'll find it at any pharmacy.. Fast her for a few days and keep doing 100% water changes in the container with the salt (you can use a small storage container, like 1 gallon to make changes easier..), do this for 10 days and keep the bottom of the container bare to make sure you can see that she has passed waste. This should work but keep an eye out for any other symptoms..

You also need to feed her less at a time, try 2 pellets in the morning and 2 in the evening.. She sounds constipated.. The epsom salt treatment should help.. Also, in a one gallon bowl you should do 2 water changes- one 50% and one 100% in the week...
