Fred the betta

Fred has red spots on his fin...I just saw my female betta nip at them. Are the red spots blood? I think I should put a divider in the tank to keep them apart. But I want to make sure the red spots are only from her nipping them. Can anyone help?

Hi Fred and welcome to the forum. First, yes, put a divider between Fred and the female immediately. If she was nipping at him, they are most likely blood spots. Keep the water as clean as possible so he doesn't get an infection.
