Seachem Stability?

Not entirely sure if this is in the correct place... ^^;

Has anyone tried Seachem Stability to cycle a tank? I've read good things online about the initial 7 day process, but I've found nothing on long term and whether or not it truly cycles the tank.

After trying to use it to help with a fishless cycle in my 5g tank, I don't think it helped at all. I know there are people out there who swear it helps, but my tank still took around 2 months for it to completely cycle. It was actually after I stopped using it that I finally started seeing my ammonia levels fall and my first sign of nitrites. I actually think the Stability is meant more for keeping your fish safe and less stressed while doing a fish-in cycle than it is for truly making the tank cycle.

I use it. Nitrites two days after using it in a fresh tank with an ammonia source.

I dont even do a waterchange unless I have my stability around. Keep in mind it still takes a couple of weeks to cycle the tank. BUT what stability does is it breaks down the bad stuff and converts it into good stuff. Thus far between my brother and myself we have used that to add new fish to our tanks (and when we started our tanks for the first time) and we have had no deaths or cycling issues. Within a week our water parameters tested normal and healthy. Plus it just helps keep everything stable in your tank.

So it doesnt replace the cycling it just helps it and helps to keep the fish protected during the cycling (no huge spikes).
