To help people answer your question, yes pictures would be best, but also try looking at this http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=49233 and answering as many of the questions on it as you can. In doing so, you let people give the best advice and see if theres anything else you could change to help your fish heal better. As far as the fish jumping out of cup while doing water changes, try putting a lid over it, something that has holes in it and allows him to breath still, but will keep him in the tank.
If the fin rot is struggling to heal on its own with lots of very clean water than you could use some AQ to help promote healing.

You need to put a lid on the cup so he can't jump out when you change the water.

Sorry for the double post but I thought of another issue, I have been treating Skye for 6 days inconstantly, so I now have less than 2 weeks till I am on vacation for a little over one week, and since the tail is rotting off here are two holes in his fins. any Ideas on what I should do?

Persist with his water changes and put a lid on the cup. You have two weeks to cure him and, unless it is absolutely awful fin rot, you should be able to do it. Keep going with the salt treatment and DAILY 100% changes and he *should* be fine. Salt treatment should be for 10 days, if it isn't better then you may have to use medication.

For after he is well, in the future for a 2gal, should do minimum of 1 50% AND 1 100% water changes per week. It may help keep him healthy :)
Fin rot is usually because of poor water conditions or exposure to toxins... which both happens/builds up when there isn't enough water changes.
