Ways to tell if they wont mate?

Alright so I've had my breeding tank setup for about 2 weeks, has the plants in the heater is in, has a cave for the female. temp is sitting solid at 81 and has been for a week with no movement at all. I've had the male in the tank for about 8 days. and the female has been in her vase inside the tank for the past 6 days.

He's not really building a Bubblenest. and they swim by one another now but that's about it. I released her into the tank today. So far they are pretty much on there own size with an occasional pass, neither one flares at each other, and there has been no chasing...

Are they just not interested in one another Possibly??

How did you condition them? and I would suggest reconditioning them if they are showing no interest in each other... also sometimes a shock can get them to spawn like adding water to the tank to simulate rain a few degrees cooler or another decoy male or female in the tank can sometimes get them worked up...

I conditioned them by putting each of them in seperate rooms where they could see no other fish. They have been Fed Brine shrimp.

How long did you condition them for? I assume about 2 weeks which is normal length of time and I suggest maybe varying the diet with bloodworms. And the water was always kept clean correct? You can always recondition them... and Is the female eggy?

Yes, I have fed them some bloodworms as well. Should I seperate them from one another, like take her vase out of the spawning tank so they cannot see each other for a few days? and try the withdrawal from one another again?? then re introduce them?

I would try reconditioning the pair. Frozen and live foods are best for conditioning.

I'd take them out, separate them, and try another time.
